Capacity Building of Informal Waste Workers in the PET Recycling Value Chain Waste to Worth (W2W) Project, Islamabad Capital Territory, Pakistan.
Project Overview
- Refine training content and delivery approaches using findings from the baseline needs assessment survey.
- Develop and deliver a structured capacity-building programe on OSH, PPE use, PET sorting and identification, labor rights, and collective organization for at least 350 informal waste workers.
- Build local training capacity through a Training of Trainers (ToT) approach to support sustainable peer-to-peer knowledge dissemination.
- Design a sustainable recycling and safety kit with appropriate technical specifications, quantities, and cost estimates for trained workers.
- Strengthen the PET recycling value chain through private sector engagement, securing partnership commitments and generating recommendations for future worker organization and cooperative development.
