Develop Capacity Building Plans and Conduct Training to Strengthen and Capacities Building and Knowledge base of Government Personnel WRAP Project
Implemented by
Project Impact
The project successfully spearheaded a comprehensive series of six stakeholder consultations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan, spanning Islamabad, Abbottabad, Gilgit, Skardu, Chitral, and Chillas, to champion Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for sustainable water resource management and ecosystem resilience. Bringing together government departments, academia, local communities, and environmental organizations, these strategic dialogues focused on identifying critical NbS approaches such as watershed restoration, afforestation, and wetland conservation to improve flood regulation and groundwater recharge. Furthermore, the consultations successfully promoted integrated water and marine ecosystem management to protect downstream aquatic biodiversity, prevent pollution in connected riverine and marine environments, and develop robust frameworks aligned with the National Water Policy, SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water) to mitigate disaster risks and enhance climate resilience.
