Environmental Monitoring & Carbon Footprint Assessment – HUBCO Power Plant

Project Overview

As part of its commitment to sustainability and regulatory compliance, Entertech Labs (Private) Limited was engaged by HUBCO to conduct a comprehensive Environmental Monitoring and Carbon Footprint Assessment. The project was aligned with the plant’s Environmental Approval conditions and aimed to evaluate environmental performance, ensure compliance, and identify pathways for reducing emissions and improving sustainability.

Project Objective

    • Assess environmental performance through systematic monitoring of key parameters.
    • Quantify the plant’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and overall carbon footprint.
    • Ensure compliance with national environmental regulations and international climate standards.
    • Identify gaps and areas for environmental performance improvement.
    • Recommend practical mitigation strategies to reduce emissions and enhance energy efficiency.
    • Support HUBCO in transitioning towards low-carbon and sustainable operations.

Key Components

  1. This project was designed to evaluate and enhance environmental performance through:

    1. Environmental Monitoring:

Regular monitoring activities were carried out to assess:

    • Ambient air quality
    • Stack emissions
    • Noise levels
    • Meteorological conditions

These measurements ensured that HUBCO’s operations remained within the approved environmental thresholds.

    1. Carbon Footprint Assessment:

ENTERTECH conducted a detailed analysis of the plant’s greenhouse gas emissions, including fuel combustion and auxiliary operations, using internationally accepted protocols to quantify the total carbon footprint.

    1. Compliance with Climate Policies:

The project reviewed HUBCO’s operational practices against national environmental regulations and international climate commitments, ensuring full alignment with environmental approval mandates and emission standards.

    1. Mitigation Strategies:

Based on monitoring and assessment findings, strategic recommendations were provided to reduce emissions, improve energy efficiency, and adopt low-carbon technologies for long-term sustainability.
