Individual Consultant —Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) System through NGP

Project Overview

The Individual Consultant — Monitoring, Reporting & Verification (MRV) System through NGP (Reforms & Innovation in Government for High Performance) project is designed to strengthen institutional systems within the power sector. The initiative focuses on developing a comprehensive MRV framework that enables accurate monitoring, reporting, and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through structured reforms and innovation in government performance.

Project Objective

    1. Support the institutional enablement of PPMC to design and operationalize a comprehensive MRV framework for the power sector.
    2. Strengthen institutional, data, and reporting systems for accurate GHG emissions accounting.
    3. Establish robust mechanisms for periodic monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of emissions.
    4. Ensure alignment with national and international standards, including IPCC and UNFCCC guidelines.
    5. Enhance transparency, consistency, and reliability in emissions data management within the power sector.

Key Components

The project involves the development of a structured MRV system that integrates institutional frameworks, data management systems, and reporting protocols. It emphasizes the establishment of standardized procedures for emissions data collection, validation, and verification, ensuring consistency and transparency across the power sector. The initiative also incorporates innovation in governance to enhance performance and accountability.
